What is usually considered Punxsutawney Phil's big day (the groundhog), is now a day for one of the Lone Star State's most iconic animals; an armadillo. So they came up with a different mascot to represent Feb. 2, also known in the rest of the United States as Groundhog Day: the nine-banded armadillo, the state's official small mammal.
