"Magic Realism", which has light fantasy elements, seems like the best bet. (In fact, I use Groundhog Day as a personal example of what the "Magic Realism" genre is.) For what it's worth, the American Film Institute (AFI) listed it as #8 on their 10 Greatest Fantasy Films list. So apparently a lot of AFI voters consider it fantasy as well. 4. If there’s any type of Groundhog Day/time travel/magical aspects in the story I just know I’m gonna eat it up!! Putting this post together made me realize there’s not very many super spicy magical realism books.. unless I’m missing some?! To all the authors Look, I love a good time loop/Groundhog Day book with the magical realism. I'm a sucker for those, but I got frustrated with the main character, Emma, especially when she didn't stop her husband from walking the dog the second time around.
