The book includes the full screenplay of Mr. Rubin's initial draft of "Groundhog Day." In 1886, Groundhog Day was acknowledged for the first time in Punxsutawney by a local newspaper, Weathers Wags, according to the club. The show opened on Broadway in April of 2017 garnering seven Tony nominations including Best The only sci-fi time loop that was something close to Groundhog Day is Legends of Tomorrow's "Here I Go Again", and while the loop was just a simulation, its end condition was similar to Groundhog Day's: personal growth of the looping character. In both that episode and Groundhog Day the loop wasn't a puzzle to be solved (even though Zari I’ve only just started reading Danny Rubin’s How to Write Groundhog Day, but it’s promising enough that I think many screenwriters will want to take a look at it this weekend. Although he is not the most accurate seasonal prognosticator, we would be remiss not to honor the longest-running weather-forecasting groundhog in the United States, Punxsutawney Phil.
