Make Groundhog Day Special in Your Classroom! Groundhog Day might be a quick holiday, but it’s the perfect day to engage your students with literacy, math, and creative fun. Whether you’re making predictions, crafting pop-up groundhogs, or reading fun stories, your kindergarteners will love celebrating this tradition! Groundhog Day brings a ton of great opportunities for practicing beginning writing skills in kindergarten with Groundhog Day-themed writing centers. These centers are also a great way for students to learn about new vocabulary words and use them in context, such as groundhog, shadow, underground, spring, winter, and more. Groundhog Day is a fun celebration that can bring up a lot of academic conversations. You can talk about seasons, shadows, traditions, predictions, Punxsutawney Phil, and more with your little learners.
